USA - NYC, THE 4TH OF JULY

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is the national day of the United States. It commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is usually celebrated with fireworks, parades, and barbecues and with public and private events celebrating the history, and traditions of the United States. If you find yourself in New York and you don’t know where to head to on July 4th, the perfect spot where to watch the fireworks is Roosevelt Island. The 2013 Firecracker 5K & 10K takes place on Roosevelt Island, with a 5K starting at 8:30am and a 10K starting at 9am. Following the race, awards are handed out Firecracker 5K & 10K 2013 participants receive a souvenir beer mug and tasty post-race meal.
